Founding process of the Faculty of Sport Sciences has been completed when the Council of Minister decision numbered 95/7044was promulgated in the official gazette dated 21 July 1995 and numbered 22350. The Department of Coaching Education was founded within the Faculty of Sport Sciences in 2002.
The theoretical course programme includes the subject fields such as training information, sport physiology, sport biomechanics, sport nutrition, sport talent identification, anatomy and kinesiology.
The Department of Coaching Education admits those students who have passed the Special Talent Exam successfully and achieved adequate athleticism and skills.
The graduate students of the Department of Coaching Education have an opportunity to work as a coach or coach assistant at the Amateur and Professional Sport Clubs, Youth and Sport General Directorate or Schools under Ministry of National Education. In addition, they can also be employed in private sectors such as tourism or gym.
The main objective of this department is to provide education for students who wish to become qualified trainers and sports coaches. Graduates receive a trainer certificate along with their degree and may be employed by public or private organisations related to their profession, as well as by the General Office of Youth and Sports.
